CAPITAN AVISPA encuentra su origen en la canción «Las Avispas». Juan Luis se inspiró en esta canción y comenzó a concebir la historia de un héroe caribeño con raíces latinas, destinado a luchar incansablemente por el bien. A partir de este punto de partida, se establecieron los cimientos del argumento, así como los contornos de sus diversos personajes. «Capitán Avispa» tiene lugar en Avispatrópolis, donde el intrépido Capitán Avispa emerge como un protector ejemplar de la ciudad, cuyo coraje y convicciones siempre prevalecen sobre las fuerzas del mal. Su poder irrompible siempre se ha nutrido de una sinceridad absoluta, ya que perdería su fuerza si se atreviera a tejer engaños…hasta que es engañado. Como es común en historias de este tipo, el Capitán Avispa está rodeado por una constelación de amigos cercanos y archienemigos, cuyas historias tienen sus orígenes en las canciones del artista.
